It’s the biggest hockey game in Portland.  Fans all excited and 16,321 teddy bears were thrown on the ice at the Rose Garden Saturday night.

University of Portland Pilot hosted Oregon ducks.

Ducks Guard Malcolm Armstead, LeKendric Longmire, and  Tajuan Porter all played great game but UP Pilots played much harder.

Shot Boys 5A & 6A and Girls 5A before head out to UO vs UP basketball game.  4 games shot by one photographer.  I had hard time killing Canon 5D Mark II batteries till today.  When I got back, I had less than 20% remaining.  1D Mark III had about 60% left.  Anyways, here’s some of today’s shot.  I was little lazy.  I brought a portable folding chair so that I could shoot long ~ time.

I setup remote camera using pocket wizard.  Soon after game started, I noticed that my lens (17-40) was blocked by a ball.  I don’t know how it got there but here’s a image I got after that

I had to wait till the end of the half.  Luckily (?) no team scored.  It was a penalty shootout.

Bend #11 helping out Sherwood #7 during OT.  This is something we never gonna see in pro game: it’s not always about competition.  Bend won 4-2 in penalty shootout at liberty high school

There’s usually not many people waiting to get in Aloha football game but today was different.  People were excited and I heard many people canceled their vacation to see this game.  It was big for Aloha and they are back in the playoff in more than two decades.

Speaking of weather, it was bad as you can see in the picture.  I was wearing glove and my camera was covered with Think Tank Hydrophobia which I like a lot.  My camera and lens were all dry after the game.  I highly recommend this.  Aloha played great game despite of their loss.  Final score: Sheldon 26 Aloha 13

Shooting University of Washington Huskies again today.  This time it’s a women’s soccer championship.  University of Portland clamins top spot in 2009 WCC preseason poll and ranked No.2 in national poll.  Soccer is getting popular in Portland especially women’s soccer.

UP Pilots Sophomore Halley Kreminski scored game winning goal in less than two minutes remaining in regulation.  Final score Pilots  2  Huskies  1. UP Pilots will play against Virginia Tech at 7 p.m  at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex.
