Watched Shamu show “believe” today. Last show that we saw was at San Diego sea world and it’s been always my favorite show. Kids like it and we really had great time. I have some time left till Texas stars vs San Antonio Rampage hockey game and quickly post some of the images I got today. By the way, Shamu express is my son’s favorite ride and I think that’s the only ride he’s allowed in san antonio sea world.

Lighting is very simple. This is good considering both of my two boys always trying to break stuffs. Elinchrom Quadra on camera right with medium size softbox. Elinchrom BX with grid aimed at the background.

It’s been raining all week. We had somewhat overacted day for couple of hour and wanted to do quick family portrait session outside. Elinchrom Quadra made me super easy to setup. It was so portable that I can easily carry around. This shot was taken at the Red Tail golf course and I believe it’s the 1st hole. Glass was wet and I used homemade posing blocks so that my clients cloth did not get wet. Simple lighting setup. Just one light with an umbrella on camera light and it was feathered.

Nest shot was taken just with natural light. I was at F3.5 and didn’t have to worry too much about depth of field since everyone in the photo was in-line. I used Nik software to darken and brighten the image (sort of like super fast dodge & burn technique in photoshop).

Inside the restaurant, client wanted to take some group photo. When I got there, it was really dark and limited space was an issue as well. Not the best background but it was probably the best background I can utilize in given environment. Flash was bounced with 1/2 CTO gel.

Photo session was taken at the the Edgefield McMenamins, Portland Oregon. First picture was taken by the small golf course nearby.
I shot this less than 15 min (we could have hit by a golfball if it took any longer than that) with Elinchrom Ranger Quadra camera right.
Full power with shoot through umbrella and shot with 70-200 2.8 @ F8. I like the light quality: soft and directional.

We found cool pinkish door and thought it would look good with female subject.

I like bossy and dramatic shots. Shot with a 580 EXII on camera right. I feathered the light source (I am using 1 light source here!) so that light fallout is even across.
