Portland Winterhawks beat Seattle Thunderbirds 6-3 and that’s 9-0 this season.  Last year, we were one of the worst team throughout the league but man, this year we are totally different team now.  I see a lot more fans this year and Seattle game has been always my favorite game.  Here’s some of the game photo.  I didn’t bring long glasses tonight all of them shot with 1d Mark III + 70-200 2.8 is.

Photographed Winterhawks players, staff, coaches on the ice today.  One thing I notice: I didn’t need wheels on light stand.  All I needed was just a little push.

Two even lights (Elinchrom BX) with 60″ umbrellas provided barely enough power to give me F16 @ 1600 ISO.    Shot tethered using Canon EOS utility and Lightroom.

Actual photo shoot is about 15 min.  Directing players where to stand or sit took me a while.

I ended up doing lots of dodge and burning since head coach Mike didn’t want to see any of the chairs on the background.

Spend some family time in Korea.  My last visit here was back in 98 and things has been changed a lot.  Weather?  It’s freezing cold here (about 5 degree in Fahrenheit).

Lighting was not so great and I end up running Dfine 2.0 to remove some of the color noise.

My wife & I (i.e no kids) spent sometime in San Antonio, TX.   As soon as we got there, we had a burger at Freddy’s

and visited some places like the Riverwalk and Alamo

It’s cool place to hang out & eat but we weren’t able to go on boat riding.

San Antonio was very friendly town and I really liked visiting here.  Weather was about 50 degree throughout the visit.

Winterhawks Boychuk, Riley (#17) collide with Silvertips goalie Thomas Heemskerk during 2nd period

Heart breaker comes in late 3rd period.  Everett Silvertips Byron Froese after scoring game winning goal during 3rd period against the Portland Winterhawks at Memorial Coliseum.

Here’s some of the images from University of Portland vs Army Men’s basketball

Pilots guard T.J. Campbell
Army Zastoupil, Eric goes up for offensive rebound

For remote camera, there’s not much action going on around the basket.

Here’s my remote camera setup.  I used canon 5d Mark II with 17-40 triggered with pocket wizard.  It was my first time setting up remote at the Chiles center and I should have used a lens hood to cut down some reflections.  Shot at ISO 3200 F4 and 1/500 sec.  I love liveview mode.  Next game would be a big one: UP vs Gonzaga.
